Uchiha Itachi stands one-hundred seventy eight centimeters tall, and weighs just under fifty-five kilograms. He does not build muscle well (a trait inherited genetically from his mother's side) which is attributed to his quick metabolism. He is extremely slim and wirey, with spidery limbs that he holds a very insignificant amount of attachment to. He has a rather severe case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but since it does not impair his ability to live 'normally' (a term he, himself, uses very conservatively) he is not medicated for it. His physical talents lie in his speed and endurance. He has excellent reflexes, and incredible hand-eye coordination.

Despite these attributes, Itachi is noted - both personally and by those 'close' to him - as being remarkably apathetic and averse to conflict. He heartily dislikes being inconvenienced in any way, and finds many quotedly 'normal' things - such as human interaction, eating, and abiding by social norms - to apply. He is known to avoid things that do not come easily to him, though there are admittedly very few things that fit this discription. Itachi is very anti-social and disagreeable - it is very possible for him to be charismatic in a structured setting, but it is rare for him to be as such in any other circumstance. He is controlling, stubborn and hard-headed, narcissistic, dispassionate, nihilistic, calculating, knit-picky, suspecting and slightly paranoid. These combined traits make him both very popular and very, very difficult to get along with.

Itachi was born in Tokyo, but has traveled widely since, most often with his mother. Just under half his childhood was spent in the archaic capitol city of Kyoto, where the Uchiha Main Family has a large summer home. He lived in obscurity, relative to the fact that he is the heir to a rather prominent samurai-family-gone-corporate-giant, and was noted from a young age as both brilliant and inhumanly distant and removed from his relatives. (This distance has been quelled between he and his mother Uchiha Mikoto, but has slowly evolved into an almost-toxic bitterness that surges between he and his father, Uchiha Fugaku.) In the years following the birth of his younger brother Sasuke, Itachi and his mother went to live abroad in Europe. Itachi finished his grade schooling (from third through sixth) in London, and attended seventh grade at a private school in Paris, France, before the family returned to Japan, and as such he speaks very fluent French and English and Italian, and semi-fluent Russian and Spanish.

Itachi is the air to the International Bank of Konoha, his father's company, and he - like his mother and father - is particularly sought after by the media. This constant presence and influence of press in Itachi's life is one of the many causes behind what could easily be described as his somewhat flaccid social life - the people he very reluctantly refers to as his friends could easily be counted on your fingers, and include a few select members of the student-terrorist group Akatsuki (namely Yokobue Tayuya, Hoshigaki Kisame, Bakuhatsu Deidara, and Akasun Sasori), and his cousin, roommate, and bed partner Uchiha Shisui. Since reaching puberty, it is this relationship in particular that has caused the rift between Itachi and his father to grow all the more exponentially, and it has become the key battle between the two of them, with the son constantly fighting for his right to be with Shisui in any way he should so choose, and the father constantling fighting to control him in any way he can. As it is, the entire family has been separated on this front - Mikoto has sided with Itachi, while Sasuke has stood by Fugaku, and the difference of opinions has led to a sort of falling out between the two brothers marked by Itachi's freshman year in highschool. This 'falling out' has led to a deterioration of their once moderately good relationship, but Itachi still remains very adamantly protective of his younger brother, whether or not Sasuke is aware of it. (This may or may not have anything to do with Itachi's increasingly obvious brother complex.)

Uchiha Itachi is a student at Oshima High School and will be graduating soon - he plans to attend the school's sister college as a Literature major. With his substantial level of intelligence, there is no doubt that he will have little difficulty pursuing this goal, which has partially fueled his interest in doing so. At the moment, though, the majority of his time is occupied by interactions with his fellow Akatsuki members, and Shisui.
